Jim Smircich Class AVAILABLE

Understanding heat in the quest for the better bead
This is a study of the principles of hot glass as it pertains to bead making. We will focus on the recognition and proper use of the "colors" of heat that are the key to bead control. This information allows the student to use the colors of the radiant heat in the glass to gain more control of the bead making process. The class fills in all the gaps in their understanding of the process and will not be a design class per se. However, design will be introduced to inform the students about the process. Information on using a graphite paddle to correctly form a long bead with fine indented ends will also be presented.

The class level will be intermediate. This includes the accomplished beginner to the advanced student.
