Kiln Firing Skills

Here is an opportunity to learn about what goes on behind the scenes when your glass is fired. Kiln shelf and mold preparation will be covered. When to use kiln wash, thin fire, papyros or MR-97 will be explained. You will be provided several kiln schedules and they will be explained. Trouble shooting less than desirable outcomes will be addressed- this will include cracks, bubbles, uneven edges, how to avoid devitrification and gaps and holes. If you own a kiln, planning on buying one or just plain curious - this is a class for you!
